What data I collect, why, how long I keep it, and how to remove it.
Who processes the data
This site is a personal project; there is no company behind it. The data is processed by me, Aleksandr Voronin (Alexander Crow on the project). For anything in this policy, reach me at media@alexcrow.com.
What I collect
- From the contact form — the contact you enter (email, phone, or messenger) and the text of your message. Only what you type yourself.
- Route heroes — the name, city, photo, and video of the people I visit. Published by personal agreement with each of them.
- Patrons — the name (and photo, if sent) of those who support the project. Shown on the “patron wall” only with their consent; if someone prefers not to, only the amount appears, without a name.
- Cookies and analytics — yes, the site uses Yandex Metrica (details in the “Analytics and cookies” section below).
Analytics and cookies
The site uses Yandex Metrica, a web-analytics service by Yandex LLC (Russia). It collects anonymized visit data: which pages you opened, where you came from, your device and browser type, approximate location from your IP, and an anonymized click map of the page. Session recording ("Webvisor") is turned off. For this, Metrica sets cookies and sends data to Yandex servers. The purpose is to understand what works on the site and what doesn’t, and to improve it. Your personal data (name, contacts, form text) is not sent to Metrica. You give consent to analytics cookies via a banner on your first visit — until then Metrica does not load; you can decline with the “Essential only” button and change your mind later by clearing this site’s data in your browser (the banner will reappear). You can opt out: turn on "Do Not Track" in your browser, block cookies for this site, or install the Yandex Metrica opt-out. Yandex’s privacy policy is at yandex.com/legal/confidential.
Why
Form data — to answer your message and not lose it. Heroes' and patrons' names, photos, and videos — to show them on the site and the project's social media. I send no mailings and pass nothing to advertising services.
Legal basis
Your consent. For the form — the checkbox when you submit; for publishing names, photos, and videos — the consent I obtain in person. For visitors in the EU the legal basis is consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); for Russia — your consent under Federal Law 152-FZ.
How long I keep it
As long as it is needed for our correspondence or for the project. On your request I delete it sooner.
Who I share it with
Form data, along with the names, photos, and videos of heroes and patrons — with no one: it sits in a database on my server and is not shared with or sold to third parties. The only exception is anonymized visit statistics, collected by Yandex Metrica (see the “Analytics and cookies” section). The site itself shows only what people agreed to publish: the names and photos of heroes and patrons.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, or delete your data and withdraw consent. A patron can remove their name from the wall. A hero can remove themselves from this site at any time — the map pin, name, city, photo, and video message. But an episode that has already been released (on YouTube and the project's channels) can't be pulled back this way: it is a published work, made by our agreement, and withdrawing consent works going forward, not retroactively. Write to media@alexcrow.com. Verification is simple: we continue the conversation where it started — the same email or messenger, or, for heroes, the chat where we arranged the filming. I reply within a reasonable time. For EU residents: under the GDPR you also have the right to contact a data-protection supervisory authority.
